Judith (Judy) Leachman (nee) Casci

Judith (Judy) Leachman (nee) Casci It is with unimaginable heartbreak that Judy passed away peacefully at the age of 81. She was surrounded by her family at her home in Sausalito. Judy was born in San Francisco and shortly thereafter she and her mother moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where Judy's father was stationed in the army. She was the eldest of six. Her family lived in the Bay Area, eventually settling in San Anselmo where she attended Drake High School. Judy began her career as a special services administrator for the Presidio in San Francisco. She later co-owned Red Hill Solar with her brother, Tim. She was also a loan service manager and eventually owned Judy's Mobile Notary. Judy had one child, Jennifer, and was an incredibly devoted single mother. They lived in San Rafael and Novato, where Judy received her A.A. from College of Marin while Jennifer finished high school. Judy was extremely social and had countless numbers of friends. She loved dancing, and met her future husband, Bill, in San Francisco where she asked him (a total stranger) to hold her purse while she entered (and won) a dance contest. They dated off and on and were eventually married years later and made their home in Sausalito. Judy was strong willed and a born leader. She was very involved in her community and church. She was the president of her HOA board and was a committee member of the Age Friendly Task Force of Sausalito. She loved tutoring children to read in nearby Marin City. She was extremely active with her seniors' group, and thoroughly enjoyed attending luncheons and outings with them. Judy loved reading, writing, socializing, painting, music, dancing and her beloved San Francisco Giants. Bill took care of her for three years, with love and support from her family, and her beloved caregiver, Tina. Judy was the love of Bill's life, and he wanted to make sure she lived the rest of her life in her home she loved so much. Judy is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bill Leachman, her daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Dougherty, her siblings, Michael (Dianne) Casci, Peggy Gonzales, Tim (Linda) Casci and Vera (Barry) Nicol, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Américo and Mildred Casci and her brother Dean (Ellie) Casci.
